FleurDeLou

To me FleurDeLou isn’t just a portfolio piece, it’s a glimpse into my mind and a vision that I brought to life. It’s about embracing imperfections, connecting with our planet and its nature, celebrating uniqueness and leaving a lighter footprint on the planet. Through FleurDeLou, I went on a journey to combine style and my love for recycling, reusing and with that sustainability. Welcome to the colorful tapestry of FleurDeLou, where fashion meets conscience, and creativity knows no limits. This is the place where I could let my mind go crazy and just go with the flow.

FleurDeLou, my own little haven of style and sustainability. Here, I tried to bring together threads of creativity and conscience, crafting beaded crochet items from pre-loved materials. It’s not just fashion to me it’s a story of renewal, where each stitch breathes new life into forgotten materials. FleurDeLou is a celebration of individuality, where every accessory carries a it’s own story and beauty like it’s owners.

This project got to life with the vision to bring fashion and nature a bit closer. Inspired by nature and its bliss, I created a wearable reflection of my interpretation of the endless desert and the drops of dew on an early summer morning. The light reflecting on the river in my hometown, creating a beautifully shimmering surface. I have always been amazed by the little details of our world that you get to see when you’re actually being aware of your surroundings, a thing we knew as kids and try to relearn as adults.

At FleurDeLou, I wore many hats. I wanted to test my abilities in various areas to find out what it takes to create a brand from scratch. From designing and crocheting all the pieces for the collection, to planning out a shooting with my incredible models. Creating a concept for the styling and the overall mood of the brand, where I had help from my dear friend Vivienne Vogt. Editing and choosing the photos and creating a website. Figuring out all the logistics and launching it, I tired it all. Almost everything you see from FleurDeLou is made from recycled materials as I wanted to create something that felt like it was doing it’s vision of being a reflection of nature justice. It’s a story of renewal and individuality where I got to pour my many passions into. This allowed me to collaborate with incredible people like the Moving Mountains Dance and Creative Studio from Zurich as they used parts of this collection for their new movie project coming out September 2024.
